Sustainable onto the podium
Sustainable onto the podium
A third place and a lot of motivation for the future – that’s what the first Sustainability Award of Obwaldner Kantonalbank had in store for Planctons.
Sustainability is also a big topic in the small canton of Obwalden. Reason enough for the Obwaldner Kantonalbank to award a prize for sustainable commitment for the first time. At this premiere, the idea of Planctons GmbH from Lungern was also among the sixteen entries – and promptly took 3rd place. Even better than the glory tastes the financial support of 3000.- Swiss Francs for the production of our «Zero-waste-Glasses» – made of 100 percent ocean plastic and completely recyclable.
No wonder Ralph Etlin, Head of Administration and Jens Singer, Managing Director and responsible for design and sales on the part of Planctons GmbH (in the middle of the picture) were proud when the prize was handed over by Sandro Widmer, sustainability manager of OKB, and CEO Margrit Koch.
Interesting competing projects
Because sustainability always also means fairness and diversity, we would like to congratulate the two winning projects. The «Ackerbauverein Obwalden» promotes organic farming in the region. Equally deserving the prize money is the dementia house «Vergiss mein nicht» in Kägiswil, which is the first day care center for people with dementia.
