An opportunity for the ocean
An opportunity for the ocean
Planet Earth is an endangered paradise that urgently needs our protection. Things cannot continue as they are. Around 13 million tons of plastic end up in the world’s oceans every year, which is threatening the equilibrium of the ancient, natural cycle. Our eyewear is made from ocean plastic, thereby helping to make the oceans a more habitable place for all marine life.
All our oceans and millions of species are endangered as a result of over-fishing, pollution and climate change. But we have the power to stop this downward spiral. As pioneers of zero waste products, we are committed to growth that enables resources to be infinitely recycled, thereby offsetting the increase in environmental pollution.
Zero waste products – made for the environmentally conscious consumer
Our newly launched Planctons eyewear collection demonstrates how sustainability can become a practical reality: every pair of Planctons glasses is made from 100% ocean plastic. This raw material comes from Tide Ocean in Basel, a Swiss start-up that specializes in extracting and processing ocean plastic. Tide Ocean’s plastic fishermen in South East Asia have already upcycled over 15 million PET bottles. As well as these local plastic fishermen, every pair of glasses sold also supports aid projects. Planctons eyewear should not only look good, but also feel good.
